The three BCAAs are leucine, isoleucine, and valine. Branched chain amino acids, also known as BCAAs, are unique from other amino acids because they are prioritized by muscle cells (fibers) where they promote muscle protein building, serve as building block amino acids, and if needed can be broken down for energy.
