While this is a healthy product, and will never taste like a milk shake, using a shaker bottle designed for protein shakes gets rid of the grittiness the previous reviewer noticed. It tastes like watered down chocolate milk when mixed properly. The positives about this product is only 90 calories per serving, and is all natural and doesn't contain the artificial flavors or colors that you find in other protein. powders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this stuff! I searched for months for a vegan gluten free protein mix and finally found this one. This is the ONLY one, out of the MANY I have tried, that I like. I mix it with almond milk and a halfway ripe banana (important that the banana isn't green because if it's not ripe enough it turns pasty when blended). Also add coconut sugar to sweeten sometimes but not needed. I am soo happy I found this product! I just wasn't getting enough protein from my diet. Now that I have this everyday I am:)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I don't like the new formula I have numerous food allergies and have practically lived on this for the past two years because of my dietary limitations. This has been my daily breakfast (without exception) and my 'go-to' when I'm in a hurry. I loved the taste and the texture and how I feel after I drink it. They've just recently changed the formula. The new taste and the texture are not pleasing to me. I'm looking at what I can add to make it less unpleasant. I rated the product a 4 for the quality product and knowing it's a good product even with my food limitations - it would have been a 5 if not for the new formula. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious I use this for breakfast.. 1 scoop of Garden of Life chocolate protein powder, 1 small Apple, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 table Organic Peanut Butter, dash of cinnamon, 1 cup of water, 3 ice cubes.. Blend in blender.. Tastes like a chocolate milkshake!!

I Love GOL but I have to say that I am very displeased with the added fillers to make this powder more palatable for people who complain that its too chalky or gritty. I usually make smoothies that are Smooth,hence a smoothie. he old formula was fine. I feel like GOL gave into the folks who want to eat RAW but not accept that RAW comes with it certain realities about its texture and content. Since I have been eating the new stuff I have been belching and been very gassy. This is due to the Carob bean gum and guar gum they have added as a cheap filler to make this smoother. Its a downgrade in my opinion. Id like for the old formula made available to those who do not wish to have added fillers in their diet.

The older I get, the more I realize how important lighter meals are, and the ability to eliminate regularly -for weight loss or maintenance, and for general well-being. If I'm not regular, then I'm retaining toxins & feel generally run-down. Love GOL's powders with probiotics specifically for keeping me regular. Vanilla is my favorite! Great flavor, digestibility, goes so well with my fruit/veggie smoothies. I drink them anytime, day or night. Staves off cravings, keeps my blood sugar level -bonus! Terrific, can't say enough about it, thanks for a high-quality product!
