    Q: Can Lutein improve vision?
    A: While Lutein won’t be able to bring your eyes to 20/20 vision, it can help support and maintain healthy vision through antioxidant protection against UV damage, cataracts, and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The good news is that if you do suffer from macular degeneration, a double-blind study of people with AMD supplemented with 10mg of lutein per day for one year had shown significant improvement in vision when compared with placebo. Another way of looking at supplementing with Eyeshield is that the ingredients are all to help support your healthy vision - so if you’re interested in preventing your vision from getting worse, or even keeping it healthy as it is, you can take Eyeshield as a preventative supplement!

    Q: How much Lutein should I take daily?
    A: There is no recommended daily value (RDV) for Lutein, but clinical studies have shown as low as 6mg daily up to 45mg weekly. Lutein is considered safe with a low risk of side effects, however you are what you eat: just like people who eat large amounts of carrots can develop carotenemia (yellowing of skin), the same thing can happen with large quantities of lutein or zeaxanthin.
